El Departamento de Aduanas de las Islas Caimán implementa la solución HCVM del proveedor Smiths Detection para reducir el flujo de armas, estupefacientes y el contrabando dentro y fuera del país. La solución HCVM, que utiliza la tecnología de identificación Vizual, que distingue entre sustancias orgánicas e inorgánicas mediante el uso de un código de colores. Esto permite la detección de narcóticos y otras sustancias sospechosas escondidas en los envíos comerciales.

Smiths Detection supplies Cayman Islands with the most advanced customs screening technology in the Caribbean

Laval, Canada , 25 August 2011 - Smiths Detection today announced its largest contract to date with the Cayman Islands Customs Department – high energy X-ray cargo inspection systems to cut the flow of weapons, narcotics and contraband in and out of the country. 

The HCVM, which uses viZual™ threat identification technology, distinguishes between organic and inorganic substances by using color-coded material discrimination. This allows the detection of narcotics and other suspect substances hidden in standard commercial shipments.  Coupled with other HI-SCAN Cargo Inspection Systems, the full array of scanners will help reduce the need for manual inspections by showing customs officials that goods in containers match those declared on the manifest.
