Reich, who brings more than 30 years of security and risk management experience, has joined the company as chief security officer. In this role, Reich will be responsible for both customer-facing and internal security initiatives at Engine Yard. The company has continually made a significant investment in information security and compliance, through internal processes and policies, to ensure the safety of its customers' data.

Reich is a well-known risk management and security expert in the cloud industry, who holds CRISC, CISSP and CHS-III certifications and is an ISSA Distinguished Fellow. Reich was most recently chief risk officer at Layered Tech, a hosting provider specializing in security. Earlier in his career, he was chief security officer at Rackspace, and previously held positions as vice president and chief security officer at CheckFree and senior manager of information protection at Dell Inc. His extensive background includes security policies, information security, internal controls, physical security, regulatory and audit compliance, business continuity planning, abuse and policy enforcement management, and change control.
