SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 01/14/14 -- Embarcadero Technologies, a leading provider of software solutions for application and database development, today announced Digifort's successful use of Delphi XE5 to accelerate mobile development projects. Digifort, an innovator of digital solutions for physical security and personal safety products, has customers in 85 countries, including in North and South America, Europe and Asia.
In late 2012, Digifort set out to create a custom networked video surveillance solution. The new application needed to support native multi-platform deployment and support high-performance real-time data transfer. After considering using traditional software development environments such as C++, Digifort chose to go with Delphi because it easily supported mobile device development and eliminated the need for developers to learn a new programming language.
"We selected Delphi from Embarcadero because we could utilize the same code in order to generate software for both iOS and Android. This eliminated the need to learn new languages and gave us a much faster time-to-market. We didn't have to hire more people," said Eric Fleming Bonilha, director of development for Digifort.
Digifort hasn't looked back since. It has successfully completed dozens of new projects where Delphi has shined strong and rapidly delivered on new iOS and Android application development projects.
Embarcadero Delphi XE5 is a go-to rapid application development solution for software developers building true native applications for Windows, Android, iOS and OS X. Desktop and mobile market developers around the globe rely on Delphi to quickly build applications using the same source codebase and without sacrificing application quality, connectivity or performance.
"Companies like Digifort are delivering amazing products to their customers across PCs, tablets and smartphones using a single Delphi XE5 codebase," said Michael Swindell, senior vice-president of products for Embarcadero Technologies. "With Delphi XE5, Digifort is getting to market faster than its competitors who use HTML5 and script-based solutions while at the same time delivering a superior native user experience for its customers."
