SEATTLE, WA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/16/12 -- Zumobi, a leading mobile media company, today announced an extension to its partnership with Ology Inc., a social discovery and networking company, launching the site's first app for Android devices.
The Ology Android app offers users a steady stream of what's trending and relevant on the Web across key interest categories that include music, film, fashion, politics, sports, TV and more. On the Ology site, both users and professional editors post content in "ologies." These topic-focused groups can be both followed by and created by users.
"We are thrilled that Android users can now access Ology directly from their smart phones," said Ology CEO & Co-Founder Beth Haggerty. "The new Android mobile app provides the Ology experience in a quick and easy-to-view format."
To ensure Ology app users have a seamless advertising experience, Zumobi implemented the company's new rich media mobile ad platform. Through the Zumobi Brand Integration (ZBi) platform, Ology can offer brands an immersive advertising experience that is highly organic and complementary to the app design. This provides an innovative way for leading brands to truly connect with and engage their audiences on mobile devices.
By incorporating a constant stream of inside news, exclusive interviews, opinionated content and hilarious lists from the Ology website consumers know and love, Android users will be able to stay connected to topics they are passionate about. Building upon its vision that apps should create a participatory experience, Zumobi worked with Ology to also enable commenting features within the app so that users can dive into conversations, rants, raves, and controversial debates happening on the Ology site.
The new mobile app for Android comes as a result of the success both companies saw last fall with the Ology app for iPhone, which was featured in the iTunes app store and received an average user rating of 4.5/5 stars.
"We are excited to once again partner with Ology to extend their content to Android users in a meaningful way," said Ken Willner, CEO at Zumobi.
The Ology Android app is free to consumers and is currently in the Android App Store. To download the app for Android devices, please visit: https://play.google.com/store/search?q=ology+zumobi&c=apps
