SANTA CLARA, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 03/03/14 -- Pertino, a company reinventing networking for the cloud era, today announced that CEO and co-founder Craig Elliott will participate in a "SDN Deployment Experiences" plenary session at the Open Networking Summit (ONS). Elliott, along with executives from Cisco and HP, will highlight how Pertino's SDN-powered cloud platform is enabling SMBs to build secure, reliable networks in the cloud that extend connectivity everywhere, and to every device, for a fraction of the time and cost of traditional networks.
In February 2014, Pertino launched general availability of its Cloud Network Engine to help SMBs "unbox" their networks in just a few clicks, pioneering an entirely new way to build and manage networks in the cloud. Since launching public beta early last year, over 5,000 customers have created free or paid Pertino cloud networks.
"While much of the industry is targeting large datacenters and enterprises with SDN solutions, Pertino has developed an SDN-powered cloud platform that overlays cloud datacenters and the Internet to deliver a virtual cloud network that is simple to deploy, private and secure, and ultra-reliable," said Elliott. "With our Cloud Network Engine, any size business can extend LAN-like connectivity to anywhere and to any device in minutes, without the cost, complexity and limitations of traditional hardware-based VPNs."
The Open Networking Summit was created by the founders of software-defined networking (SDN) and explores key developments and deployments in the ever-evolving space of OpenFlow and SDN. As part of the "SDN Deployment Experiences" plenary session at ONS, Elliott will discuss how SMBs are building their software-defined enterprise networks in the cloud. The other panelists include: David Ward, senior vice president, development chief technology officer, and chief architect of Cisco Systems, INC.; and Sarwar Raza, director, Cloud Networking and SDN, HP Networking, Hewlett-Packard Company.

About Pertino
Founded in 2011, Pertino is reinventing networking for the cloud era, and in the process, providing a catalyst for democratizing IT for small-to-medium businesses. Globalization, cloud-enabled IT, and growing demand for always-connected people, devices, and things is affecting businesses of all sizes -- making the "outside network" as critical as the inside one. However, traditional VPN networks have not kept pace. Pertino's revolutionary Cloud Network Engine enables any business to build a simple and secure cloud-based network that connects people to IT resources from anywhere on the planet. No hardware. No networking knowledge. No upfront investment. To achieve this breakthrough, Pertino has developed a software platform that combines the power and pervasiveness of the cloud with Software-defined Networking (SDN), network and service virtualization technology and cloud-based management. The company is venture funded and headquartered in Los Gatos, Calif. For more information or to try Pertino for yourself, please visit pertino.com.
