The US government mandated transition to a Positive Train Control system by 2015 has caused many railroads to reconsider their IT infrastructure. BRC needed an IT solution for greater availability, disaster recovery solutions, and expanded integration with business processes for employees and third party vendors. As an important hub for all transcontinental trains, BRC's main goals were to eliminate downtime and increase safety.
