SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 04/15/14 -- Loggly, the world's most popular cloud-based log management service, today announced a new context-aware integration of its product with the New Relic SaaS-based solution for the performance monitoring of modern software. The one-click access to Loggly from New Relic enables a holistic view of log events from the application and relevant devices and infrastructure. With the holistic view, joint customers can trace transactions across multiple applications, or even from client side to server side, which helps developers and DevOps staff research issues and resolve problems measurably faster.
Many of Loggly's customers rely upon New Relic to help manage applications and develop software for highly complex, distributed, cloud-based IT environments. When an issue is detected in New Relic, such as a user error on the web site, developers want to understand the events leading up to the issue so they can determine the cause. Using Loggly together with New Relic, customers can move from the "how" to the "why" of an application issue. Before the integration, DevOps staff had to manually copy the event data from New Relic into Loggly. Now, they simply click directly from the notification in New Relic to Loggly for a visual representation of the "log view" of the event.
The integration not only eliminates extra steps in the troubleshooting process but also delivers highly granular information so that DevOps staff can optimize the code and prevent errors from happening again. Common uses of Loggly and New Relic include performance bottleneck identification, root cause analysis, resolving cross-application issues and end-to-end application model visibility.
"Companies use New Relic and Loggly to maintain superior performance and service levels for their critical cloud-based applications," says Charlie Oppenheimer, CEO at Loggly. "This effort requires an enormous volume of data analyzed in real time, and it can be frustrating and time-consuming to correlate data between tools. Now, DevOps staff has one-click access between New Relic and Loggly, making it easier and more convenient to use both tools for research and resolution every time a potential problem bubbles to the surface."
"The integration between New Relic and Loggly is extremely fluid, and solves a major issue that IT organizations face when monitoring cloud-based environments: the complexity of using multiple tools and the inevitable gaps in data," says Bill Lapcevic, vice president of business development at New Relic. "We are thrilled to work with our long-time partner Loggly to bring new value and ease of use to our customers who live and die by the Web."
The Loggly-New Relic integration is a snap to download and install for free from the Chrome Web Store.
