EIG originally implemented SharePoint as a business intelligence platform for a single centralized portal. As it began to roll out intranet sites and built out its collaboration capabilities, workflow and document sharing, EIG's three SharePoint farms became increasingly difficult to manage. With the decision to use SharePoint for an internet project -- adding two more SharePoint farms -- EIG turned to Axceler to help manage its growing SharePoint environment.

He is developing a policy framework for SharePoint governance, and expects ControlPoint to play an even larger role once it is established.

"I'm steering the project team into how we take ControlPoint forward to manage our governance policies, especially for our internet sites," Bucknall concluded. "Once the sites are locked down, we know that ControlPoint will be the enforcer of our policies and keep us in compliance."
