SAN JOSE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 05/21/14 -- Elastica, the leader in Data Science Powered Cloud Application Security, today launched its Box Securlet. The software makes it possible for security professionals to uncover data leakage vulnerabilities, data theft susceptibilities and regulatory violations caused by activities on a company's Box user accounts. The Box Securlet can show its value in minutes after a few clicks of easy on-boarding, by flagging possible content exposures, data leakages, policy violations and vulnerabilities (like PCI, HIPAA or others). With this deep insight and controls, security professionals can better define and enforce policies for data loss prevention on Box. A free trial of Box Securlet is available at http://www.elastica.net/box.
"Box is a leading example of a modern enterprise SaaS application and has paid special attention to the security of its application," said Rehan Jalil, President & CEO of Elastica. "Intentional or inadvertent user actions are the leading cause of regulatory exposures, data leakages and intellectual property loss. Using advanced machine learning, Elastica's Box Securlet protects your company data in Box from leakages and exposures caused by user account activities."
Elastica Box Securlet is an addition to Elastica's Securlet library on top of CloudSOC platform. Elastica Securlets are standalone security applications on CloudSOC platform that provide advanced security functionality for a specific SaaS application. They can be deployed on their own or in combination with any of the Elastica security applications.
The Box Securlet provides support for the full life cycle of security, including following:
1. Auditing Box account for data leakage exposures, regulatory compliance vulnerabilities like personally identifiable information (PII), Payment Card Information (PCI), Protected Health Information (PHI), or intellectual property loss vulnerabilities like exposure of source code files, financial, design, legal or other sensitive documents. Data Science powered Auditing results can be provided within minutes after on-boarding to Elastica Box Securlet.
2. Detecting threatening Box user account activity, leveraging advanced machine learning and Data Science. Abnormal and dangerous user behaviors are flagged. Depending upon admin settings, one can cause alerts or automatic remediation activities.
3. Protecting sensitive information through enforcement of policies at the content level. Thresholds can be applied, such that a policy could trigger an alert or a remediation action. Remediation could be automatically applied or selectively done manually.
4. Investigating for pre- or post-incident response in Box using advanced analytics, filtering and visualization capabilities. It provides deep insights into how sensitive company data may be endangered by user actions.
Elastica's Box Securlet is generally available to customers today and can be subscribed to from the Box Marketplace or from Elastica's App Store. For a free trial, go to http://www.elastica.net/box.
