SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 07/24/14 -- Midokura, a global company focused on network virtualization, today announced several new industry accolades within the last month. For network virtualization innovation and overall company success, Midokura earned the grand prize in Nokia Networks' Silicon Valley Open Innovation Challenge. For a second consecutive year, the company was also named to CRN's 2014 List of Emerging Vendors, CRN's 10 Coolest Virtualization Startups of 2014 and the AlwaysOn Global 250 Top Private Companies.
In May 2014, Nokia Networks launched its Silicon Valley Open Innovation Challenge, offering the brightest innovators an opportunity to collaborate with the company on game-changing ideas to help shape the future of the telecommunications industry. From more than 90 submissions, Nokia Networks chose Midokura as grand prize winner in the Telco Cloud category for its network virtualization solution, MidoNet.
Continuing its momentum in the market, Midokura was also recognized as one of the hottest emerging technology vendors in 2014 by CRN magazine for a second consecutive year. The annual "CRN Emerging Vendors" list identifies up-and-coming technology vendors that have introduced innovative new products, creating opportunities for channel partners in North America to create high-margin, cutting-edge solutions for their customers. The company was also featured on CRN's 10 Coolest Virtualization Startups of 2014 list.
Also for the second year in a row, Midokura was named among the AlwaysOn Global 250 Private Companies.
