SAN JOSE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 07/31/14 -- PernixData, the leader in server-side storage intelligence, announced today that Pentius, a global marketer of a variety of web properties and consumer services, has selected PernixData FVP software to optimize the performance of real time transactions and data warehousing functions using Microsoft SQL server. By deploying FVP software with Fusion-io PCIe cards, the company avoided an expensive storage upgrade and is cost effectively delivering microsecond application performance using shared Dell EqualLogic and Nimble storage devices.
"The PernixData solution seamlessly works with whatever storage we have in place," said Martin Toha, CTO of Pentius. "That is the beauty of a decoupled architecture. I get the IOPS I need, when I need them while buying the capacity I need, when I need it."
PernixData FVP software, the premier platform for scale-out storage acceleration, virtualizes high speed server resources like flash into a clustered acceleration tier that enables IT administrators to quickly, easily and cost-effectively scale-out storage performance completely independent of storage capacity. The result is unprecedented read and write performance for all virtual applications. By creating a new software-based infrastructure for server-side storage intelligence, PernixData fundamentally changes how storage is designed and operated in virtual data centers.
PernixData FVP was deployed seamlessly into Pentius' environment, with no changes to their existing virtual machines, servers or storage infrastructure. Once in place, Pentius saw the following benefits:
Today, FVP is also front-ending a new Nimble storage device, giving the company flash performance for a fraction of the price of an all flash array.
