PLEASANTON, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/23/12 -- Spigit, the leader in social innovation software and services, today announced that Madhukar Govindaraju has joined the Company's executive team as the senior vice president of Engineering and Technology to drive the evolution of Spigit's social innovation software. Govindaraju joins Spigit as a proven product engineer and technology architect with more than 20 years of experience leading engineering organizations focused on enterprise and application software development, most recently as the senior vice president of engineering at Saba Software.

As SVP of Engineering and Technology at Spigit, Govindaraju will be responsible for leading Spigit's product engineering and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) operations teams in the design, development and delivery of Spigit's crowd innovation platform and products. He will also drive product innovations in concert with Spigit's product strategy, roadmap and current focus on mobile-enabled applications as the Company delivers social innovation to organizations and employees anytime, anywhere.

Prior to Saba, Madhukar was the chief development architect within the Technology & Innovation Platform Group at SAP, responsible for the SAP - BusinessObjects Suite of On-Premise and On-Demand Business Intelligence (BI) products. Madhukar has also held senior engineering positions at Cloud9 Analytics, Hyperion Solutions Corporation (Acquired by Oracle Corporation), Promptu Corporation, ChipCenter, LLC and Digital Market, Inc. (acquired by Agile Software, Inc. and now Oracle Corporation).

Madhukar attended the Doctoral Program in Computer Engineering at the University of California, Irvine, and holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
