Varonis Brings New Features to DatAnywhere, Building on Momentum in Rapidly Growing Market

Actualizado el 19 de agosto, 2014 - 12.00hs.

NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwired) -- 08/19/14 -- Varonis Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: VRNS), the leading provider of software solutions for unstructured, human-generated enterprise data, today announced general availability of DatAnywhere 2.0, adding important new capabilities to its ground-breaking solution for secure, cloud-style file synchronization and sharing that instantly transforms enormous file-sharing environments into private clouds, providing mobile access from any device to large volumes of data without moving those files from existing file servers.

The new features in DatAnywhere 2.0 include:

  • Added support for stub files on desktop/laptop clients, enabling organizations to select which files remain local on desktop clients and which files are stubbed. Stub files look and behave as if they are stored locally, but are actually stored only on the corporate file server. This feature gives organizations greater flexibility and control and provides an additional layer of security.

  • Multi-language support (DatAnywhere now supports English, French, German, Japanese, and Russian)

  • Support for Windows 8.1 desktop clients

  • Additional administrative functionality including file server I/O throttling and the ability to restrict personal workspace creation

David Gibson, Varonis Vice President of Marketing, said, "DatAnywhere has taken off because it uniquely addresses one of the most painful challenges to arise in recent years -- how to make the terabytes and petabytes of data residing in corporate data centers as accessible as the public cloud without sacrificing security or disrupting the infrastructure. The proliferation of public cloud-based file sync and share tools like Dropbox provides short-term relief to employees who need to share files, but these tools don't address the massive volumes of information that continue to accumulate in corporate file shares. DatAnywhere turns existing file shares into an instant private cloud so remote employees can collaborate with each other, with customers or with vendors from anywhere, using their mobile devices -- securely, and without requiring that any data be moved. DatAnywhere provides the perfect solution to empower collaboration efficiently and securely with large amounts of file share data."

Terri McClure, Senior Analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group, said, "With DatAnywhere, Varonis has given IT departments the ability to satisfy the productivity requirements of an increasingly mobile workforce and remove both the security and efficiency concerns that accompany the movement of sensitive files to the cloud. Organizations want to leverage their existing infrastructure investments and empower their employees to collaborate more easily with simple access to potentially large volumes of data."
