DURHAM, NC -- (Marketwired) -- 09/11/14 -- Percona, the company that makes MySQL faster and more reliable, today announced that the Call for Speakers for Percona Live MySQL Conference & Expo 2015 is open and accepting speaker proposals through November 9, 2014. Percona Live MySQL Conference & Expo 2015 will take place April 13-16, 2015 at The Hyatt Regency Santa Clara and Santa Clara Convention Center. Sponsorship opportunities are open, and Super Saver Registration discounts are available through November 16, 2014 at 11:30 p.m. PST. Percona has also announced OpenStack Live 2015, a new conference that will run in parallel with Percona Live MySQL Conference & Expo 2015 on April 13 and 14. The call for speakers for OpenStack Live 2015is also open now through November 9, 2014.

More than 1,100 attendees from 40 countries participated in the Third Annual Percona Live MySQL Conference and Expo held in April 2014, an increase of 15 percent over the previous year. The 2014 conference was sponsored by 34 companies and featured talks by industry luminaries from Oracle, Dropbox, Fusion-io, Continuent, and many more.

The 2015 conference will feature a variety of formal tracks and sessions related to High Availability, DevOps, Programming, Performance Optimization, Replication and Backup, MySQL in the Cloud, MySQL and NoSQL, MySQL Case Studies, Security, and What's New in MySQL. Percona invites proposals for both breakout and tutorial sessions. Breakout sessions are 50 minutes in length including a Q&A. Tutorial sessions are focused on an immediate and practical application of in-depth MySQL knowledge and are targeted at a level between a training class and a conference breakout session. Tutorial speakers should assume that attendees will have laptops to work through detailed and potentially hands-on presentations. Tutorials are typically three hours in length including a Q&A, but submissions will also be accepted for full-day, 6-hour tutorials.

Selected speakers will receive a complimentary full conference pass.
