Mr. Sandberg will serve as Altiscale's vice president of customer success, where he will play a critical role in ensuring that Altiscale's growing base of customers derives the most business value from their investment in Apache® Hadoop™.

Sandberg has a long history of servicing customers of Open Source software. Prior to joining Altiscale, Sandberg was vice president or customer success at Hortonworks, a leading distributor of on-premise Hadoop. Before that, Sandberg served as the founding CEO of SkySQL, a principle provider of MySQL-related open-source database technologies and services. Before SkySQL, Sandberg was senior vice president of MySQL Global Services (acquired by Sun Microsystems), where he was responsible for MySQL's worldwide technical support, training, consulting and certification programs. Earlier in his career, Sandberg was also vice president, Field Services at Marimba (BMC). Sandberg holds a MSEE from Lunds Tekniska Högskola in Lund, Sweden.
