TUCSON, AZ and MERCED, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 09/22/14 -- AudioEye®, Inc. (OTCQB: AEYE) ("AudioEye") ("the Company"), creator of the Audio Internet® patented audio browsing and automated publishing technology platform, today announced that the Company has contracted with the University of California, Merced (UC Merced) to deploy its patented accessibility platform, which will provide compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act ("ADA") requirements, while expanding the reach and convenience of all UC Merced websites.
"Through its assumption of a leadership position among our nation's State University systems by acting decisively to allow those with disabilities to access and fully interact with its websites, we believe UC Merced will inspire and encourage other universities and colleges to do the same," stated Nathaniel Bradley, Chief Executive Officer of AudioEye, Inc. "UC Merced's commitment to accessibility will provide the university with added benefits by enabling students, faculty, parents and a growing and diverse community of other website users to benefit from eyes-free and hands-free access to its entire family of websites."
"The University of California system includes ten campuses that offer undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The campuses include UC Berkeley, UC Davis, UC Irvine, UCLA, UC Merced, UC Riverside, UC San Diego, UC San Francisco, UC Santa Barbara and UC Santa Cruz. UC Merced is among the first universities to adopt AudioEye's technology and the first to do so campus-wide. There are over 10,000 college, university and trade school websites that AudioEye's accessibility platform technology has the scale and technological strength to address," concluded Bradley.
Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act is among a set of laws that have been strengthened and now require the websites of all colleges, universities and schools to be accessible to individuals with disabilities. AudioEye has developed the only solution currently available that can both identify and remediate web content which is out of compliance with Section 508. Furthermore, AudioEye is the only company that can guarantee compliance to the federal government's mandate of Section 508 compliance.
