ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- (Marketwired) -- 10/15/14 -- The Global Technology Distribution Council (GTDC) has appointed K.H. Lim, chairman and CEO of SiS International (HKSE: 0529), to its executive committee. Lim co-founded SiS in 1983 and is credited with successfully building the group from a small, privately owned family business in Singapore to one of the leading distributors of technology products and investment holding companies in Asia.
Lim is the first Asia-based distribution executive elected to the GTDC executive committee, which helps set organizational policies and leads the strategic direction of the GTDC -- an association of the world's leading technology distributors, which annually generate more than $135 billion in worldwide product and services revenue.
"SiS International has been a valuable member of the GTDC since 2002 and K.H. Lim's leadership, experience and knowledge on strategic marketing and channel distribution has helped the company transform into one of the leading distributors in the Asia-Pacific region. The GTDC is a truly global organization and I look forward to working closely with K.H. in this additional capacity and to helping drive growth in Asia and other parts of the world," commented Tim Curran, CEO of the GTDC.
Through Lim's leadership, SiS has established a strong market presence, attracting both vendors and solution provider partners for its ability to deliver innovative, comprehensive solutions across multiple platforms to customers.
"It is an honor to join the executive committee of the GTDC. This is a great opportunity to bring more strategic focus to the Asian region and I'm happy to add my leadership and knowledge to an already successful committee," Lim said. "It's an exciting time in distribution with the influx of mobility and other high-growth technologies, and I have no doubt that we as a council will achieve even greater success in 2015."
