SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 10/21/14 -- SwiftStack, the leader in software-defined storage for the cloud, today announced it has partnered with Alliance Technology Group, a national solutions integrator that delivers scalable, cost-effective infrastructure to enterprise customers. Alliance Technology Group will integrate SwiftStack into its solutions portfolio, offering its customers a software-defined object storage solution that simplifies management and ensures uninterrupted scale and seamless integration across multi-geographic data centers.
Organizations face significant storage concerns with fast-growing data demands, greater complexity, rising costs, compliance and flexibility issues. According to research firm IDC, in 2013 object-based storage (OBS) solutions accounted for over one-third of revenue in the file-and-OBS market and is forecasted to be a $21.7 billion market in 2017.
By adding SwiftStack -- built on the OpenStack Swift object storage engine -- to its offerings, Alliance Technology Group is providing customers with new ways to hurdle the current challenges of storage and while simplifying the complexity of deploying, managing and scaling object storage in their enterprise data centers.
"Alliance Technology Group has a track record of delivering cost-effective and reliable cloud infrastructure to enterprise customers," said Joe Arnold, CEO of SwiftStack. "This partnership furthers that success by offering customers a simple-to-manage and massively scalable object storage engine that can seamlessly integrate with their existing systems and infrastructure."
Alliance Technology Group has a deep investment in OpenStack, the open source cloud software community whose object storage project Swift serves as the backbone for SwiftStack. The Hanover, MD-based solution provider has experts trained and certified in OpenStack and will soon join the OpenStack Foundation.
"We pride ourselves on giving our customers the best software solution possible, and adding SwiftStack to our offerings was a no-brainer," said Chuck Neely, VP of the OpenStack IPA Group at Alliance Technology Group. "We've invested heavily in the OpenStack community and understand the advantages software-defined storage can bring businesses. SwiftStack allows us to take a progressive approach to storage and help our customers tackle their diverse storage demands."
