AJAX, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 12/02/14 -- November was another good sales month at Volkswagen Canada. A total of 4,840 new cars and light trucks were delivered from its 136 dealers, bringing the year-to-date number to 61,283. This number is 5% greater than the 58,590 sold during the same period last year.

Leading the way again last month were sales of Volkswagen's compact sedan, the Jetta. In November, the 1,874 sold firmly established the Jetta as one of the country's top selling passenger cars. Year-to-date sales of 29,325 all-but-assures 2014 will be the best-ever for the Jetta in Canada.

Sales of the Golf family of cars continue to impress. Last month, 1,334 of the all-new, 7th generation 2015 Golf and GTI, combined with the Golf Wagon left dealer's lots. The Golf family of cars was recently named Motor Trend's 2015 Car of the Year.

Not to be overlooked were strong sales of the mid-sized Passat sedan, with a total of 504, and the Tiguan compact sport utility, which accounted for 728 units.
