FAIRFAX, VA -- (Marketwired) -- 12/09/14 -- wefi, the market leader in delivering actionable mobile intelligence and network analytics, today announced it has launched its new Advanced Research Platform (ARP) designed to let operators take advantage of the massive data sets on their networks based on Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity and mobile device activity. wefi's ARP is a data visualization and business intelligence platform that enables operators and OTT application developers to better plan and monitor the performance of their users on Wi-Fi and cellular networks, predict usage, monetize more effectively and deliver the best user experience.
"Traditionally, network operators have only had access to data stemming from the network access point, which leaves them unable to take into account user experience and actual network speeds. What's missing is a vital component of assessing the mobile subscriber's quality of experience -- granular metrics that detail how subscribers are behaving on their network," said Zur Feldman, Chairman and CEO of wefi. "ARP, our new analytics solution, offers unparalleled visibility for app developers and network operators into critical device-side data resulting from observations of the subscriber's experience over multiple networks and different points in time. This deeper look gives mobile networks and application developers the ability to find powerful ways to create a better user experience."
ARP delivers a granular look at network performance with insights derived from a broad range of network data inputs from devices, including which data network is being used (i.e., Wi-Fi, 3G, 4G, LTE), where it is being used, connection throughput and speed, the time and duration of use and which apps are in the forefront of device screens. By evaluating mobile data usage patterns, the mobile ecosystem can find new monetization opportunities by heightening subscriber usage and optimizing new access-point locations.
Current wefi service provider customers use ARP-based data products to look into the use of Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity, both on and off their own networks, allowing them to predict problems or obstacles within their network's connectivity and get ahead of them. Rather than relying on inaccurate, theoretical network-side predictions, network operators can pinpoint trouble spots and identify ideal locations for deployment of new small cells or towers to gain better coverage in dense data usage locations by quickly assessing data on user experience delivered by cellular and Wi-Fi.
