SEATTLE, WA -- (Marketwired) -- 03/31/15 -- Qumulo, pioneer of the world's first data-aware scale-out NAS, today announced that it has been selected as a "Vendor to Watch" by leading industry analyst firm Enterprise Management Associates (EMA). EMA Vendors to Watch are companies that deliver unique customer value by solving problems that had previously gone unaddressed or provide value in innovative ways. The designation rewards vendors that dare to go off the beaten path and have defined their own market niches.
Qumulo recently announced the company's launch out of stealth and the general availability of its flagship solution Qumulo Core, the world's first data-aware scale-out network-attached storage (NAS). Designed by the inventors of scale-out NAS to help enterprises intelligently manage and store billions and trillions of files, Qumulo Core builds real-time data analytics directly into storage, giving enterprises an unprecedented view of their data and storage resources at scale.
Qumulo Core is in production by leading customers in commercial high performance computing industries, including Ant Farm, Blind Studios, Densho, Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington, Sinclair Oil, Sportvision, TELUS Studios, University of Utah Scientific Computing and Imaging Institute, ZOIC Studios and many others.
"Qumulo has created a new class of data-aware scale-out NAS that makes data more accessible and impactful, while reducing capital expense and operational complexity," said Jim Miller, Senior Analyst, EMA.
"We are honored to be named a Vendor to Watch by EMA," said Peter Godman, co-founder and CEO, Qumulo. "We believe this recognition underscores the increasing need for a solution that helps enterprises not only manage their data but also answer critical questions about their data footprint in real-time and at incredible scale -- and we remain committed to fundamentally changing the way enterprises store and manage enormous numbers of digital assets."
