HOUSTON, TX -- (Marketwire) -- 06/05/12 -- Idera, a leading provider of application and server management solutions for Windows and Linux, today announced it has appointed Mike Bennett as Executive Chairman and Rita Selvaggi to its board of directors.

New appointees recognized as industry leaders
A two time recipient of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in the communications and software category, Bennett, a 25-year veteran CEO in the network and systems management industry, and current Idera board member, wrote the book on the consumerization of enterprise class software at SolarWinds. As CEO, Bennett architected SolarWinds' operating model and took the company public in 2009, as he did at Mission Critical Software (IPO in 1999 and subsequently acquired by NetIQ Corporation), Permeo, LBMS, Summagraphics and others. He is also a member of the board of directors at Bazaarvoice and an adviser to both Technology Crossover Ventures and Austin Ventures.

Selvaggi has been a leader in the technology industry for the past 30 years, with a career that includes management and executive experience in sales, channel development, business development and marketing. Building upon a solid management foundation that she established early in her career with Fortune 500 companies, including IBM and ADP, Selvaggi has spent the last 15 years in mid-stage and startup software environments. As a senior executive team member, her strong operational and line experience has enabled her to build and scale several successful ventures, from early stage through acquisition and/or IPO. Her most recent position was senior vice president of marketing for SolarWinds, a leader in the IT management software industry, where she was responsible for building the SolarWinds model for high velocity B2B software sales and marketing. She currently serves as an executive adviser to portfolio companies of Technology Crossover Ventures, and is a consultant to a number of other early stage companies.

Building on a strong foundation
The new appointees join John Thornton, General Partner at Austin Ventures where he has spent nearly 20 years focused on software investing and firm strategy; Keith Kreuer, Principal at RedHouse Associates with more than 25 years experience in starting and building innovative, customer-oriented information technology companies; and Mike Clark, Principal at RedHouse Associates with extensive experience as an early stage entrepreneur including founding PointSecure, Inc. and PentaSafe Security Technologies, Inc.
