SAN JOSE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 10/21/14 -- PernixData, the leader in server-side storage intelligence, today announced that PernixData and Micron will work together to promote the adoption of Micron solid state drives and memory with PernixData FVP® software. Through this collaboration, the two companies will work to maximize the gains achieved when storage performance is decoupled from storage capacity using server-side flash and memory, which includes substantially faster application performance, improved storage array utilization, and lower IT infrastructure costs.
PernixData FVP is a key infrastructure element of any virtualized data center. The software virtualizes server side flash and memory into a clustered acceleration tier that enables IT administrators to quickly, easily and cost-effectively optimize VM performance while scaling-out storage performance with compute resources.
Micron is one of the world's leading developers of memory technologies, which it builds into a broad portfolio of end solutions including high-performance solid state drives and DRAM modules. Backed by more than 35 years of technology leadership, Micron's memory solutions enable the world's most innovative computing, consumer, enterprise storage, networking, mobile, embedded and automotive applications.
"PernixData and Micron have a common goal of combining virtualization with server side flash to decouple storage performance from capacity," said Jeff Aaron, vice president of marketing at PernixData. "By working closely together on marketing and sales initiatives, the two companies are delivering a robust joint solution that is easy to deploy and scale with predictable scale-out performance for our joint customers."
"As a premier memory and storage developer, we are committed to working with complimentary software solutions that facilitate the adoption of server-side storage solutions," said Allen Holmes, vice president of storage customer enablement at Micron. "In a short period of time, PernixData has established FVP as a premier platform for storage acceleration, making them a strategic complement to our family of high performance memory and solid state drives."
