SAN MATEO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 11/11/14 -- AtHoc, Inc., the leader in network-centric interactive crisis communication systems, today announced that on Veterans Day 2014 AtHoc employees will participate in a charitable walkathon to benefit veterans and their families. The event will be held at the College of San Mateo, with the company pledging funds for each mile walked to Fisher House in Palo Alto, which provides no-cost temporary housing to military families while loved ones receive medical treatment.
As a company, AtHoc is committed to supporting the armed forces, with a high representation of veterans among its staff. Approximately 22 percent of AtHoc's full-time employees have military experience, lending a rich perspective to the day for all employees. Before the walkathon takes place, AtHoc employees will gather to listen to veterans within the company discuss their service and to emphasize the importance of honoring the military heritage that has brought freedom to the nation.
"At AtHoc we recognize the sacrifices that have been made by American men and women for more than 200 years, paying in blood for the freedom we enjoy today," said Guy Miasnik, AtHoc's CEO. "It's the least we can do to give something back to service members when they are in need as their families receive treatment for injury and illness."
AtHoc's commitment to the armed forces continues beyond this one day of service. Its emergency mass notification systems currently protect millions of personnel and their families serving around the world, enabling real-time communications to keep people safe in crisis situations.
