Hosted by the Berkeley Seismological Lab at the University of California, Berkeley, the conference kicks off September 3 at the UC Berkeley campus.

Founded in 1897, the Lab -- together with the USGS and Caltech -- reports vital earthquake information within a few minutes of occurrence.

More than 140 registrants from 15 countries, 18 academic institutions and 10 private companies will attend the conference. Among them will be AtHoc's Efraim Petel, VP, Global Public Safety. He'll discuss the Mexican early warning system, considered one of the world's most effective systems. Aviv Siegel -- AtHoc's chief technology officer -- will serve on a panel with other experts, discussing industry use of earthquake early warning.
