MADRID, SPAIN -- (Marketwired) -- 04/29/14 -- Code-named "Carina", the twenty-first release of OpenNebula is available today with a new innovative provisioning model based on virtual Data Centers that offers a simple but comprehensive framework for resource allocation to different groups of users in federated data centers and hybrid cloud deployments. Carina brings the ability to easily federate multiple OpenNebula clouds for high availability, scalability, isolation or multiple-site support, and the seamless sharing of golden images across these zones through a new revamped AppMarket. Users can also browse and provision services on-demand using a new simple, intuitive cloud provisioning portal.
"The cost and complexity of deploying private clouds are so high that they may erase many of the cost benefits of cloud. Our aim is to bring beauty, peace of mind and simplicity to the private cloud," said Ruben S. Montero, Chief Architect of OpenNebula. "Other cloud management platforms are great for companies operating very complex infrastructures and who have the resources to build, operate and use them. They are making private cloud computing too complicated. We want to simplify the private cloud," said Ignacio M. Llorente, Director of OpenNebula.
Upcoming Community Events
After a successful first OpenNebula TechDay hosted by BIT.nl in The Netherlands, next TechDays will be held in Florida, hosted by Transunion-TLOxp, and in the Bay Area, hosted by SYNNEX/Hyve Solutions. Next OpenNebula Conference will take place in Berlin in December 2014.
