ATLANTA, GA -- (Marketwired) -- 09/08/14 -- Cirrity, a leading channel-only secure cloud solutions provider, announced today that the company has achieved ISO/IEC 27001 certification after a rigorous audit process. Cirrity also became the first cloud services company in the U.S. to receive CSA STAR certification, an industry standard that recognizes the specific security requirements of multi-tenant service providers.

The ISO/IEC 27001 standard sets out requirements and best practices for developing, implementing, maintaining and improving information security management system (ISMS) programs based on an organization's business risks. The Security, Trust and Assurance Registry (STAR) certification is the result of a partnership between BSI and the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) working together to develop a third party certification program. STAR certification incorporates the requirements of ISO/IEC 27001 with a maturity rating to indicate how well an organization is complying with the CSA Cloud Controls Matrix, a specified set of criteria that measures the capability levels of the cloud service.
