SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 08/26/14 -- Moogsoft, the leader in collaborative situation management for web-scale IT operations, today announced the appointment of former VSS Monitoring and Empirix executive, Rob Markovich, as the company's new Chief Marketing Officer. Markovich will be responsible for broadening Moogsoft's global market presence as the company prepares for accelerated growth, customer expansion and continued innovation.
"To date, we have focused on perfecting our technology and enabling the success of our Fortune 500 customers. We are now ready for aggressive marketing outreach to disrupt the stagnant IT service assurance market," said Phil Tee, CEO and co-founder of Moogsoft. "Rob brings high energy, deep domain experience, and a proven track record of success -- the trifecta that will enable us to scale our business rapidly and smartly as we grow our global customer base."
Markovich's track record includes co-founding two IT management software companies, including Visual Networks, which achieved annual sales revenue of $100 million and a successful IPO. Prior to joining Moogsoft, Markovich was senior vice president at VSS Monitoring where he oversaw sales, marketing, and business development and later led the data center management platform company to a successful acquisition by Danaher Corp. Prior to VSS, Markovich was general manager at Empirix, a software assurance company later acquired by Thomas Bravo, Inc.
The announcement comes three weeks after Moogsoft closed an $11.3 million series B funding round led by new investor, Wing Venture Capital. Existing investors, including Redpoint Ventures, also participated in the round.
Moogsoft's flagship product, Incident.MOOG, is a next-generation manager of managers used by web-scale enterprises and service providers to create collaborative situational awareness among their IT Operations Management (ITOM) and IT Service Management (ITSM) teams. Incident.MOOG detects incidents as they unfold, reduces the noise without preset rules or models, creates contextualized situations and then orchestrates rapid restoral of business services.
"As a company that's disrupting a strategic, $10-billion market, and already with an impressive list of global customers, Moogsoft is an exciting place to be," said Markovich. "I'm proud to be colleagues with this veteran team of industry experts and I look forward to expanding the company's customer reach worldwide."
Moogsoft began customer deliveries in February 2012 and was immediately recognized as a "Cool Vendor in Application Performance Monitoring" by Gartner. Since then, the company has established partnerships with leading vendors in the ITSM and DevOps sectors and expanded its presence across North America, Europe and Asia, winning customers who are reinventing IT Operations Management for competitive advantage.
