HOUSTON, TX -- (Marketwired) -- 12/02/14 -- Data Foundry, a leading provider of data center colocation, disaster recovery and managed services, today announced that NSD Vault will be one of the first customers to stand-up servers in its new Houston 2 data center. NSD Vault, a provider of start-to-finish IT disaster recovery and customized hosting solutions, will begin moving hardware into Houston 2 when the facility opens in early 2015.
NSD Vault is headquartered in Houston and has many customers along the Texas Gulf Coast. Many of those customers have disaster recovery infrastructure at Data Foundry's Texas 1 data center in Austin. With the opening of Houston 2, NSD Vault will be able to offer a geographically closer option to customers in the region.
"I drive potential customers up to Austin to tour Texas 1 all the time. It's a critical part of my sales cycle," said Aric Foxhoven, President, NSD Vault. "Data Foundry, by finally providing Houston with a premium data center choice, is filling an urgent need for city."
Like Data Foundry, NSD Vault has offices in both Houston and Austin. The company offers a variety of network services to small and medium-sized companies, associations, cities and local government agencies.
NSD Vault also purchased dedicated office space within Houston 2 so customers that are affected by natural disasters or other outages will have a functional workspace they can go to and use as needed.
"Houston may not be the first place that comes to mind for a DR site," said Foxhoven. "But concerns that anyone might have will be erased when they visit Houston 2. No detail has been overlooked: the security, redundancy and robust physical infrastructure will make it very attractive to my customer base."
At 350,000 square-feet, Houston 2 will be Data Foundry's second and largest data center in Houston. With capabilities for 60-megawatts of power, the facility will have a chilled water-cooling system, a 185-mph wind-rated structure and will offer carrier neutral network access to more than 10 fiber carriers.
"We are pleased to have NSD Vault as one of our first customers in the new Houston 2 data center," said Mark Noonan, Vice President of Sales, Data Foundry. "NSD Vault is a great example of the type of high-growth company for which Houston 2 is being built."
Houston 2 is scheduled to open in early 2015. For more information please visit: http://www.datafoundry.com/data-centers/houston-data-center/houston-2/
