NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 06/13/12 -- Bayshore Networks, the leading provider of internal application firewall technology engineered to detect and block advanced malware and threats, today announced general availability of Bayshore SCADA Firewall (v2.0), delivering unmatched defense against targeted attacks on SCADA infrastructure. Featuring enhanced protocol support, user interface and reporting, the second generation of Bayshore SCADA Firewall v2.0 provides one of the most powerful lines of defense at a time when attacks on critical infrastructure and industrial control systems are increasing in sophistication, frequency and scale.
Bayshore SCADA Firewall v2.0 features:
"Critical infrastructure requires sophisticated security technology with industrial control protocol support, and we believe the next generation of Bayshore SCADA Firewall is the strongest defense against advanced threat actors who continue the onslaught of more sophisticated attack schemes aimed at SCADA Industrial Control Systems, Defense Industrial Base and critical infrastructure organizations," said Bayshore Chief Executive Officer Francis Cianfrocca.
Bayshore's flagship SingleKey Layer 7 application firewall leverages patent-pending heuristic baselining, behavior-based analytics and highly-granular SingleKey Policy Language (SPL) to detect anomalous behavior in real time. Detected anomalies are often indicative of Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) attacks in progress. When operating as an inline firewall, SingleKey can provide mandatory (blocking) or advisory (non-blocking) enforcement of SPL rules, as well as alerting, logging and reporting.
In February, Bayshore announced a strategic technology integration with BAE Systems, delivering a powerful combination of Bayshore's next generation Layer 7 firewall technology on top of BAE's ultra-secure STOP OS operating system to deliver unmatched defense protection for BAE customers.
"With its emphasis on application baselining and analytics, Bayshore has gained a solid following in the so-called serious security market -- including the SCADA space," said Wendy Nather, Research Director, Security, at 451 Research. "While we'd like to see more organizations deploy firewalls within the internal network as well as on the dwindling perimeter, more widespread adoption will likely continue among organizations facing the biggest and most active threats -- at least in the near future."
