MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 01/14/14 -- Tintri, the leading producer of storage for virtualization and cloud environments, today announced its new "Virtualize More with Less" program to address changing storage needs in an increasingly virtualized environment. This is the first next-generation storage savings program of its kind designed to help companies break free from the constraints of traditional storage, allowing companies to achieve superior performance and efficiency with VM-level automation and control for virtualized and cloud environments.
Traditional storage was designed for physical not virtualized environments, and to over compensate companies oftentimes overprovision their storage to meet performance demands. In doing so, they significantly increase their capital and operational costs as well as data center footprint. In addition, IT teams relying on traditional storage vendors spend countless hours on complex and repetitive deployment and management tasks, delaying delivery of business services.
"Customers need and deserve storage which is designed for virtualized environments," said Kieran Harty, chief technical officer and co-founder of Tintri. "Application centric storage from Tintri is capable of providing insight and control at the VM-level. The elimination of overprovisioning and minimum ongoing management significantly reduces capital and operating costs. Many of our enterprise customers have already benefited from this new approach to storage and we are confident that many more will do the same with the help of 'Virtualize More with 50 Percent Less' program."
To kick-off the program, Tintri is offering companies what hundreds of NetApp customers have already discovered: virtualize more, with 50 percent less. This includes:
"Virtualization doesn't happen in a vacuum. As virtualization becomes the new normal and IT departments are adapting to VM-environments, storage architectures need to evolve along with servers and networks to ensure IT organizations are getting the best possible return on their virtualization initiatives," said Terri McClure, senior analyst at ESG. "Today there is a need for efficient delivery of storage designed for VMs to meet performance demands and allow for more insight and control not only at the storage level, but across entire stack, including the network and compute layers as well as the VM."
"As a reseller, we are always looking at ways to drive greater efficiency in our customer's IT organizations," said Dave Wasserman, managing partner at Sovereign Systems, LLC. "This includes improving the efficiency of their infrastructure. The Tintri 'Virtualize More with 50% Less' program is a smart program that delivers meaningful value to our customers. This is exactly what we have come to expect from Tintri."
