SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/27/12 -- New Relic, Inc., the SaaS-based cloud application performance management provider, today announced that AppHarbor, a .NET cloud platform provider, has enhanced its Platform-as-a-Service offering by adding application performance management from New Relic, free of charge as a single click add-on. Now customers of AppHarbor can take advantage of New Relic's proven app management capabilities to ensure exceptional online service delivery, optimize their applications for use on the AppHarbor Platform, and troubleshoot performance issues in their code.
AppHarbor is a .NET Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS). Developers using AppHarbor's scalable cloud platform have the choice of pushing code using either Git or Mercurial. AppHarbor then builds the code and runs any unit tests. This allows developers to spend their time developing applications, not patching servers, managing configuration files, or worrying about deployments and scaling.
"At AppHarbor, we believe that developing and deploying .NET applications should be simple and fun," said Michael Friis, co-founder of AppHarbor. "New Relic is a perfect fit to our open ecosystem of add-ons, providing developers access to unparalleled application monitoring capabilities, critical to the success of any web application."
"AppHarbor is one of the few .NET cloud hosting providers and we are pleased to be built into their new offering," said Bill Lapcevic, vice president of business development at New Relic. "The New Relic web application performance tool gives developers deep, 24x7 visibility from the end user experience all the way to a line of application code. This is a crucial capability for developers deploying apps to the cloud because it allows the development team to optimize the architecture and code of the application to best use the resources of the platform on which it runs. Being part of AppHarbor's platform will make it even easier for application teams to monitor, troubleshoot and optimize their .NET apps."
New Relic is fully integrated with the AppHarbor platform and can be accessed through a single click. To get started, select New Relic in the add-on gallery and add it to your application. A New Relic account will be created automatically and all relevant setup takes place the next time your application is deployed. Learn more here.
