MONTREAL, QUEBEC -- (Marketwire) -- 06/18/12 -- For the fifth consecutive year, OSIsoft Inc., world leader in data and temporal event management infrastructure, is proud to present the Engineering Innovation award at Excellence Gala of the Ordre des ingenieurs du Quebec (OIQ). This year, the award went to engineers Marc-Olivier Bessette and Richard Fay of the firm Cegertec Experts-conseils, for their exemplary contribution to work on the Honore-Mercier bridge in the summer of 2011.

Cegertec Experts-conseils was chosen by Mohawk Bridge Consortium (MBC) to assist it in carrying out this work. Urgent action was required, since the bridge was closed during construction, so the work had to be completed within 42 days. The team from Cegertec Experts-conseils collaborated with other stakeholders to determine how to proceed. The innovative solution adopted was to reinforce the gussets by adding new gusset plates from the inside of the trusses, a delicate and highly complex operation. The project was completed on time and the team put its skills and energy to work for the population to achieve excellent results, which met standards and safety requirements.
