SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 09/23/13 -- JFrog (www.jfrog.com), the company revolutionizing the way software is built and distributed, has been awarded the Duke's Choice Awards 2013 winner at Oracle's ceremony during the JavaOne Conference in San Francisco. With the win, JFrog has become the only software company to be selected twice for the award, one of the highest honors in the Java industry. The frogs' Bintray, the industry's first social platform for storage and distribution of software libraries, was awarded with the win and also named Community Choice winner -- the award chosen by developer community votes.
The Duke's Choice Awards recognize and celebrate the innovation in the world of Java technology. A prestigious 11-year tradition, they are granted to the most novel and groundbreaking technologies and contributions to the developer community. The Community Choice Award was introduced during the awards' 10th anniversary last year and voting is open to all members of the Java community on Java.net.
As the new way for developers to publish, download and share software across one unified community around the world, JFrog's Bintray has paved the way for next-generation development. The free, cloud-based platform which already hosts almost 70,000 software packages -- created by developers, for developers -- made strides right out of the gate since its launch in early 2013. With innovation "the most important ingredient" of the Duke's Choice Awards, it's no surprise Bintray was honored by both Oracle and the developer community. The honor is added to JFrog's 2011 Duke's Choice Awards win for its flagship product, Artifactory -- the world's leading Binary Repository Manager.
"We couldn't be more excited to be included in the Duke's Choice Awards this year; it's even more of an honor when it comes as the 'community favored' category. From the start, we knew Bintray would set the bar for today's collaborative developer (OSS publisher and consumers), and we're proud to have achieved this win," said Shlomi Ben-Haim, CEO & Co-Founder at JFrog. "Here's to becoming the only company to become two-time Duke's Choice Awards winners -- thank you Oracle and the larger developer community!"
About JFrog:
Based in Israel and California and founded by longtime field-experts, JFrog's mission is to provide better technologies and tools for software developers. JFrog has changed the way developers store and manage binaries and allows for complete control over the full software release flow.
Through Artifactory, it is the first company to provide software developers with a binary repository management solution. Winner of the JavaOne Duke's Choice Award, JFrog has established itself as a technology leader in the software industry. The company continues to set the standard for solving developer pains with the launch of Bintray, deemed "the missing link in social software distribution" by peers.
