The examination, conducted by independent accounting and auditing firm BrightLine CPAs & Associates, Inc., evaluated the processes, procedures and controls for security, availability and confidentiality of the company's machine data intelligence service for the period of November 1, 2012 to July 31, 2013.

The Type 2 SOC 2 report is an attestation report that opines on Sumo Logic's controls relevant to the security, availability and confidentiality of the information processed for its customers. Organizations with certification and compliance requirements such as HIPAA and PCI DSS may request and leverage Sumo Logic's Type 2 SOC 2 report as part of their compliance strategy.
