MONTREAL, QUEBEC -- (Marketwired) -- 10/17/13 -- ACCEO Solutions Inc., a leading Canadian provider of IT consulting services as well as business and financial solutions for SMBs, announces that the payment solutions of its Tender Retail division, a Canadian leader in innovative and secure payment solutions, will be integrating the EPAS Retailer protocol. This major development is scheduled for sometime in 2014. The announcement was made today in Nice, France at the Annual Meeting of EPASOrg, an international standards association comprised of various key industry players.

The EPAS Retailer protocol is a standard defined by EPASOrg and will be added as an alternative to Tender Retail's current proprietary protocol. It is a standard, modern and interoperable protocol that will enable the integration of point of sale systems into the Tender Retail payment solution. In using this standard, merchants and vendors of point of sale solutions will enjoy greater operational flexibility. Eventually, Tender Retail solutions will also incorporate the EPAS Acquirer protocol, when acquirers (banks) are ready to support it in North America.

Standards are critical to card payment systems because they foster interoperability, a highly sought-after benefit nowadays. Additionally, by encouraging the spread of interfaces with only slight differentiation, they enable solution providers such as Tender Retail to focus their efforts on innovation, where it matters most.
