BOSTON, MA -- (Marketwired) -- 10/13/14 -- MachineShop, the Internet of Services company, today announced it has been invited by Cisco to participate in its industry-wide effort to help establish a dialog and blueprint for better collaboration and integration within the Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem. Supporting this effort, MachineShop will be presenting its next-generation middleware and recently announced embedded middleware service at the Internet of Things World Forum, October 14 - 16 in Chicago. The Internet of Things World Forum is an exclusive event that brings together the best and brightest thinkers, practitioners, and innovators to accelerate and simplify market adoption of connected systems, services and applications.
MachineShop emerged from stealth mode earlier this year to offer an API-centric approach to simplify how organizations integrate and understand the enormous amount of data that originates with connected systems and devices. The company's Connected Services Platform is uniquely capable of exposing the interfaces to systems, devices, networks, applications and events as a service.
MachineShop's middleware was specifically designed to deploy in multiple environments including public cloud, private cloud, and embedded appliances. For MachineShop, this offering represents a first-to-market advantage and one that allows the company to support customers' early market designs of embedded products and solutions for the Internet of Things.
"It's important to look at the IoT landscape holistically and to build an infrastructure that is flexible, scalable, and that delivers the connectivity and availability to transform businesses and our everyday lives," said Ken Lynch, Vice President marketing, MachineShop. "We are honored to have been invited by Cisco to participate at the IoT World Forum and look forward to demonstrating how our next-generation IoT middleware and embedded middleware service can contribute to the foundation of IoT growth."
Among recently announced enhancements to MachineShop's Connected Services Platform is the addition of nearly 100 new APIs for data ingestion, normalization and API management. Also in the list of new services are several new APIs for applying business rules and extracting business intelligence from streams of real time data. In total, MachineShop now offers customers more than 400 discrete APIs for commercial and embedded application development and integration.
