WASHINGTON, DC -- (Marketwired) -- 06/02/15 -- The Digital Risk Management Institute (DRM Institute), a not-for-profit organization formed to identify and communicate best practices for managing digital business risk, today announced the appointment of Greg Coticchia as its Chairman of the Board.
Mr. Coticchia will oversee the DRM Institute's mission to define a decision-making framework that creates and sustains business value by balancing the need to protect the organization with the need to run the business. He will focus on achieving DRM Institute objectives to publish a generally accepted set of digital risk management best practices and facilitate benchmarking by digital risk officers against those practices.
Mr. Coticchia is a seasoned leader who brings more than 25 years' experience in cyber security and high tech. He has managed organizations ranging from start-up to more than $1B in annual revenue and specializes in introducing and positioning new technologies, companies and strategies.
He currently serves University of Pittsburgh as both its Director of the Student Startup Accelerator, "The Blast Furnace," and as an Executive in Residence (EIR) for software and information technology.
Previously Cotichhia was Chairman, CEO and Co-Founder at Malcovery Security, an IT security company for threat intelligence derived from big data analysis. Prior to this, he was Chief Strategy Officer and Executive VP at Approva Corporation (acquired by Infor), a provider of enterprise software and services for Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC). He also served as CMO and Senior VP at Cloakware (acquired by Irdeto), Senior VP at Intraware, COO and Senior VP at TruSecure Corporation, and VP Marketing, Enterprise Solutions at Symantec. Earlier in his career, he was VP Marketing and Product Management at LEGENT (acquired by CA).

Coticchia is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh in Industrial Engineering, where he also received his MBA. He holds certificates in Entrepreneurial Management from Carnegie Mellon University and Professional Coaching from Duquesne University.
