AUSTIN, TX -- (Marketwired) -- 10/14/14 -- Data Foundry, a leading provider of data center colocation, disaster recovery and managed services, today announced that Wolfe, a leading Ethernet services provider headquartered in Seattle, will establish a major Internet Point-of-Presence (POP) within Data Foundry's Texas 1 data center.
Wolfe will build a HUB for its network within Texas 1 consisting of redundant 100 Gbps transit links and 40 Gbps redundant rings for Texas Metro connections. This will allow customers to connect to Wolfe's high-performance Ethernet services both in Texas markets and the other cities nationwide where Wolfe.net has a network presence.
Texas 1, Data Foundry's flagship, 250,000 sq. foot data center in Austin is the ideal partner for Wolfe because of its location in Central Texas, and because it is a state-of-art data center with multiple layers of redundancy. Texas 1 is connected to many of world's largest Internet backbones.
Data Foundry customers can connect their deployments via their carrier of choice. Customers are also able to secure redundant cross-connects via diverse points of presence with carriers that are built out in its Texas-based facilities. With Wolfe, Data Foundry customers will get an additional fast, reliable and secure carrier option.
"Fast and reliable Internet services are the backbone of modern data centers," said Mark Noonan, Vice President of Sales at Data Foundry. "Wolfe dropping a 100 Gbps POP into our networking hub means more options for our customers, and it will help Wolfe expand its offerings into Texas."
Wolfe's scalable, customized solutions include point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, MPLS, and IP services with bandwidth speeds from 10 Mbps to the recently launched 100 Gbps.
"When we started looking at data center partners in Texas, Data Foundry's Texas 1 facility became an obvious choice," said Michael Scott, General Manager of Wolfe. "The ultra secure facility with multiple carriers On-Net makes it a great fit for us."
