SAN JOSE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 02/10/14 -- PernixData, the leader in virtualizing server flash, announced today the creation of PernixDrive, a technology alliance program that brings leading vendors together for the advancement of server based flash storage architectures. Through the PernixDrive program, PernixData is working with top flash hardware vendors to ensure their products work seamlessly with PernixData FVP, the premier Flash Hypervisor software. In addition, the companies are collaborating on ways to maximize the gains achieved when storage performance is decoupled from storage capacity using server side flash, which includes substantially faster application performance, improved storage array utilization, and lower infrastructure costs.
"PernixDrive is heralding a new era in storage design by combining virtualization with server side flash in a completely seamless fashion," said Jeff Aaron, vice president of marketing at PernixData. "We are working closely with our partners to deliver robust joint solutions that are easy to deploy and scale, and deliver quantifiable benefits that blow the doors off traditional storage architectures."
Elements of the PernixDrive program include:
"IT organizations are consistently challenged with managing massive data growth and increasingly virtualized environments that require improved storage performance without significantly increasing costs or complexity," said Pete Hazen, director of marketing, non-volatile memory solutions group, Intel. "Intel's Data Center Family of Solid-State Drives complement PernixData FVP product to deliver fast, reliable and consistent performance that leverages existing infrastructures for easy deployment and greater cost-efficiency."
"By deploying Kingston Enterprise SSDs with PernixData's Flash Hypervisor software, customers receive substantially more IOPS at a fraction of the cost of existing storage arrays," said Ariel Perez, SSD business manager of Kingston Technologies. "We are pleased to work with PernixData on various joint marketing, sales and engineering initiatives to further the adoption of this game-changing storage technology."
"FVP is a great complement to Toshiba SSDs*, improving the performance of virtualized applications while ensuring seamless VM mobility," said Don Jeanette, senior director of marketing at Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc., Storage Products Business Unit. "By working with PernixData, we are paving the way for a new storage paradigm designed for the virtual generation."
