SANTA CLARA, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 12/11/14 -- Big Switch Networks, the company delivering hyperscale networking efficiency to data centers worldwide, announced today that Gregg Holzrichter has joined the company as Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. Holzrichter is an enterprise marketing veteran with deep domain expertise across disciplines including demand generation, corporate marketing, analyst and public relations, and channel marketing.

Holzrichter's appointment to Big Switch rounds out the executive team that CEO Doug Murray has been building over the last year. During Big Switch's CMO search, company founder Kyle Forster oversaw marketing initiatives for the company. Forster will now focus on strategic initiatives with the company's leading customers, a role he held previously. With Forster at the marketing helm, Big Switch drove the industry discussion around making hyperscale networking accessible to data centers worldwide, launched the flagship Big Cloud Fabric product and Dell partnership, and secured its first two $1 million plus customers with more in the pipeline for 2015. Forster will now work closely with these and other customers to realize their vision of adopting hyperscale networking designs.

Holzrichter brings more than 20 years of experience driving effective strategies for companies that include Siebel Systems, PeopleSoft, VMware, and most recently Atlantis. Holzrichter steps into a key leadership role that will be vital to Big Switch's continued growth as it has emerged as the industry leader in software-defined networking.
