AJAX, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 11/01/13 -- Volkswagen Canada celebrated another milestone in October with its 22nd consecutive month of record sales. For the month, a total of 5,809 new vehicles were sold, bettering last year's record (5,777). Year-to-date sales of 53,758 are 6% ahead of last year (50,696).

"We have found the right balance," stated Maria Stenstrom, President and CEO of Volkswagen Group Canada. "Our cars deliver a combination of high quality, superb dynamics and safety, along with excellent value."

The Jetta continues to lead the charge, having firmly established itself as a top seller throughout Canada. Last month, 3,267 were sold thanks to a choice of five different engines, including the award-winning TDI Clean Diesel, a Turbocharged Hybrid, and an all-new 1.8L, turbocharged direct-injected powerplant.

The brand continues to explore new markets and opportunities, having recently announced a collaboration with the Canadian Double Platinum-selling band, "Walk Off The Earth". The video for the band's latest single; "Gang of Rhythm" features very creative use of The Beetle as not only a source of transportation, but also a source of inspiration... and sound.
