SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 09/10/14 --
DataStax, the company that delivers Apache Cassandra to the enterprise, today announced the expansion of the DataStax Academy portfolio of training programs designed to make world-class Apache Cassandra and DataStax Enterprise training available for all levels, from beginner to expert. The announcement was made at Cassandra Summit 2014, the world's first distributed Cassandra conference and the largest gathering of Cassandra experts in the world, with more than 2,000 attendees expected.
Perspectives on The News
"This is the best source where developers/administrators can easily understand the Cassandra database," said Taduru Hariprasad, Samsung software developer. "The clear explanations, relevant topics, useful indexing all make the course contents good."
"These courses are excellent," said recent trainee Jay Ramlakan, a database developer. "The quality is very high. Thank you for making this available to the community. I'm sure it will help to increase the popularity of Cassandra and DataStax. Much appreciated."
"DataStax is focused on making training readily available to anyone who wants to take it," said Amy McNee, Vice President of Global Customer Operations, DataStax. "We want to remove any obstacles that might prevent people from learning what they need to achieve success with their online applications. We want everyone to get started easily, get the best information, and get the right training (at the right time) for their particular needs."
DataStax Academy Training Program
Since its inception in 2011, the DataStax Academy training program has achieved ever-growing success, particularly with classroom and onsite offerings. Seeking to strengthen and increase broad availability of Cassandra training, DataStax has redesigned both free and paid training offerings with 24x7 availability and greater information sharing. Currently, more than 10,000 learners in a variety of industries use DataStax as the distributed database technology of choice for their online applications, mitigating risk and concern of going down across a broad range of environments.
Award-winning training includes:
Cassandra and DataStax Enterprise training is free with the virtual training option. Trainees can remain anonymous if desired, or, if they register, they can take quizzes and exams, have their progress tracked, and receive proactive alerts as content becomes available.
Paid instructor-led training, whether in a classroom or on-site, will feature lower pricing, and will include broader options for content and delivery methods, including off-hours and online choices.
Sold-out Training at Cassandra Summit 2014
More than 2,500 developers will be trained at Cassandra Summit. After DataStax added an additional training day to accommodate overwhelming demand, that sold out in less than 24 hours.
Conference Day at Cassandra Summit
Conference day, Thursday, September 11, will feature leading-edge companies including Sony, ING, Target, Google, Credit-Suisse, Microsoft and Instagram sharing how Apache Cassandra has transformed business and accelerated growth at the fifth annual Cassandra Summit hosted by DataStax. The September 10-12 event at the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco, is completely sold out.
