Now in its third year of competition, the Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Michelin is going strong. Throughout the season, drivers have raced at some of Canada's finest permanent road courses, as well as during the F1 weekend at the Grand Prix du Canada in Montreal. The two classes of Porsche GT3 Cup cars provided fans and drivers alike with great racing and fierce Championship battles that were contested to the very end at the final weekend event for 2013 at Calabogie Motorsports Park.

Rookie driver David Ostella emerged as the Platinum Cup winner of the 2013 Ultra 94 GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Michelin.

In addition to the shiny trophy, Platinum Cup champion David Ostella took home a different type of hardware - a new Porsche 911 Carrera, which he will have the pleasure of driving for one year, courtesy of Porsche Cars Canada, Ltd. President and CEO Alexander Pollich was present today to officially hand the keys to him.

"The Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car was the perfect track companion for me all season long," said David Ostella. "And as if this car wasn't enough, I am thrilled that I will experience the latest generation of this incredible sports car on a daily basis!"

The bright red vehicle sparkled almost as much as Ostella's eyes as he posed by the sleek machine that will be his own for the next 12 months. His father, Renato, will actually be the first to drive the iconic sports car. It only seemed natural as it was he that introduced him to the sport and the SpeedMerchants team introduced him to Porsche.

The Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Michelin is one of three official Development Series sanctioned by the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA). It is also the fastest-growing single-make series in North America.
