BOSTON, MA -- (Marketwired) -- 06/05/13 -- Apperian, Inc., the enterprise mobile application management (MAM) pioneer, today announced the release of its iOS App Remote Control capability as part of the company's Enterprise Mobile Management platform. Apperian's App Remote Control enhances any managed app, without requiring code changes or an SDK, by allowing it to be remotely controlled by mobile IT administrators, app developers or support personnel.
"We know that IT departments struggle to support mobile employees because they can't see what's happening on those devices, which causes major headaches for everyone," said Carlos Montero-Luque, Apperian's chief technology officer. "Apperian App Remote Control eliminates this pain point because those that are authorized can remotely interact with an app as if they were physically holding the device. This benefits those workers who are not always in the office, but need help troubleshooting an issue quickly, or for mobile app developers who want to see user issues first-hand or check a new app version and make sure bugs are fixed."
"Enterprise and end users continue to embrace mobility, which enables corporate teams to be more productive than ever, anytime and anywhere," said Chris Hazelton, Research Director, Mobile & Wireless at 451 Research. "The key ingredients for making these devices productive are the mobile applications companies push to these devices. To ensure that these workers remain productive, regardless of where they are, providing remote interaction and troubleshooting company apps, while leaving personal apps untouched, will be key capabilities that IT needs."
Apperian's iOS App Remote Control capability provides a seamless way for developers, support teams or IT individuals to troubleshoot any issue from afar with just a web browser. User's privacy is maintained by alerting them to when an app is being controlled and allowing them to disconnect at any time. Additionally, only apps that have the App Remote Control policy applied to them may be controlled remotely by authorized staff. Authorized individuals using Apperian App Remote Control only have access to the company apps, and not to employees' personal apps or data.
