AUSTIN, TX -- (Marketwired) -- 07/16/14 -- InQuinox, a market leader in the server and data migration space, today announced the delivery of SanXfer version 6.0. This release extends platform coverage to allow for fast, live (on-line) migrations of Windows servers to new hardware, and data from one storage platform to another, while the servers and data are still being used.
"With the release of SanXfer 6.0, our customers can now perform Live migrations over the SAN or over IP. SanXfer customers have been requesting the Live migration feature so that SanXfer can completely replace their PlateSpin® Migrate and Double-Take® Move competitors due to their failing grades in product quality, functionality and support," stated InQuinox CEO, Brad Hargett.
This new on-line functionality ensures that servers and storage can be very reliably migrated while server and storage platforms are still running the company's business.
"From a technology perspective, adding the Live functionality within SanXfer was a 'no-brainer' as most of the functionality was included in our early designs," explained InQuinox Vice President of Development, Mitchell Mikula. "With customer demand for on-line migrations so high, we engineered the remaining on-line functions into SanXfer 6.0, fulfilling our customers' needs."
The SanXfer 6.0 release retains the functionality to do high performance, off-line migrations and in keeping with SanXfer's guiding principles of Fast, Easy and Reliable, the latest release allows anyone from the most seasoned DataCenter professional to a novice IT Administrator to migrate their servers and storage within minutes, either via the off-line or the new on-line approach.
Through this new on-line migration method, SanXfer customers have a full complement of options when migrating servers from old to new, including File or Block level data transports, scheduled migrations, and a variety of 'synchronization' options. SanXfer supports Physical-to-Physical (P2P), Physical-to-Virtual (P2V), V2P, local-to-SAN booting, FC booting, iSCSI booting, and VM support (VMware, Hyper-V, and Xen).
