OSHAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 06/03/14 -- Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac dealers delivered 26,444 vehicles in May, up 12 per cent compared to a year ago, marking the company's best May since 2009 and its best total sales since June 2011. Retail sales - vehicles sold to individual buyers - were up 16 per cent while fleet sales were up 2 per cent.

"Cadillac's world-class vehicles with luxurious design and technological innovations are driving a strong sales momentum in 2014," said John Roth, vice president, sales, service and marketing, GM Canada. "In May, Cadillac sales reached their highest volume since November of 1987. Later this year, the all-new Escalade and ATS coupe will join the Cadillac line up offering customers a full range of luxury vehicles."

Starting today, General Motors of Canada is offering an "employee pricing" program to customers on virtually all of its Chevrolet, Buick and GMC vehicles. The campaign features Canadian employees making their contribution to designing, building and selling the world's best vehicles and illustrates the dedication and quality of work that goes into all of our vehicles and technologies.

May 2014 Sales Highlights

--  Sales of the Chevrolet Trax were up 42 per cent for the month 
--  Buick sales grew by 48 per cent for the month, driven by sales of the
    Buick Verano with a total sales increase of 36 per cent 
--  GMC sales recorded the highest volume for the brand since May 1998 with
    8,215 vehicles sold 
--  Cadillac retail sales increased 19 per cent, marking the 20th
    consecutive month of retail sales growth 

Total GM Canada sales were up 12 per cent in May 2014.
