SAN JOSE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 01/31/14 -- Ubiquiti Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: UBNT) ("Ubiquiti") today announced the purchase and discovery of its one millionth UniFi enterprise Wi-Fi access point (AP).

The discovery was made earlier this week by Israel Arruda, director of FasterNet in Brazil, who remarked, "I'm very excited to have been a part of this milestone. I love Ubiquiti's products and am delighted to be the recipient of the golden AP."

Arruda uses Ubiquiti products to enable Wi-Fi access for 20,000 customers in 35 Brazilian cities. He decided to start using UniFi after success using Ubiquiti's airMAX products.

The purchase was made through the distributer WDC Networks. "We congratulate both Faster Net and Ubiquiti for the rapid and resounding success of UniFi, which is clearly meeting a need that no one else in the market can," said Vanderlei Rigatieri, general director of WDC Networks.

Soon after discovering the golden UniFi AP, Arruda was refunded the cost and presented with a real, functional UniFi AP. The one millionth UniFi AP is plated in 24-karat gold in celebration of this important milestone, which UniFi met after just two years on the market. In that time, Ubiquiti quickly rose to 2nd in unit market share (Gartner Research).
