SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 10/07/14 -- Trifacta, a Data Transformation Platform provider, today announced that Dan Niemann joined the company as vice president of worldwide field operations. Niemann has over 15 years of experience growing technology companies and has held entrepreneurial roles at both established vendors and startups. He joins Trifacta from Informatica and is responsible for Trifacta's field operations, business development and sales strategy.
"Dan has the proven ability to grow and retain customers for emerging technologies. His experience guiding customer acquisition and retention through direct response, sales and alliances will be invaluable as we continue to grow the business to meet the increasing market demand for Trifacta's Data Transformation Platform," said Adam Wilson, CEO of Trifacta.
Prior to Trifacta, Niemann managed alliances and sales at Informatica for a number of new initiatives, including the company's first real-time and cloud product offerings. As vice president sales & business development for Informatica Cloud, Niemann defined the go-to-market strategy and built the sales organization. Under his leadership, Informatica's cloud subscription business grew from zero to more than 1,000 customers and more than $50 million in annually recurring revenue. Niemann began his software career at the mobile analytics startup, Zimba. As part of the founding team at Zimba, he was responsible for building the company's sales channel including the relationship with Hewlett Packard.
Trifacta removes the current bottleneck in today's big data stack by reducing the time and skill required to find insights buried in the petabytes of raw data locked inside corporate IT. Today, as much as 80 percent of an analyst's time is spent on data wrangling. The Trifacta Data Transformation Platform enables business and data analysts direct and agile interaction with data -- increasing analyst productivity 10x.
"I've seen first-hand how a democratizing technology like Trifacta can disrupt a market. Trifacta is the clear leader in the data transformation space and has a stellar team," said Dan Niemann, vice president of worldwide field operations at Trifacta. "I'm excited to drive an even greater breadth of partners, channels and customers."
Hadoop and big data have changed the data paradigm, requiring a new means for transforming data; one that is more agile and iterative than traditional data pipelines. In the world of big data, data analysts have assumed the task of data transformation. As data moves from data stores, like Hadoop, to analytics tools, analysts are tasked with the arduous and time-consuming manual effort of prepping data. Trifacta allows analysts to more productively and intuitively transform raw data into a form that can be used for analysis through Predictive Interaction technology.
