By joining the Hortonworks Technology Partner Program, BlueData will accelerate the deployment of a modern data architecture, integrating with the Hortonworks Data Platform -- the industry's only 100-percent open source Hadoop distribution, explicitly architected, built and tested for enterprise-grade deployments. Hortonworks customers can now use BlueData to build agile, secure and cost-effective Big Data deployments that deliver value in days instead of months and at a cost savings of 50% -75% compared with traditional approaches.
The BlueData EPIC platform optimizes Big Data productivity by streamlining and simplifying Big Data infrastructure and eliminating complexity as a barrier to adoption. Through the Certification, BlueData can offer Hortonworks' customers a resource-effective and high-value deployment option as a key element of their Big Data solutions.
"We believe our partnership with Hortonworks will help further our vision of democratizing Big Data by making it accessible for enterprises of all sizes," said Kumar Sreekanti, co-founder and CEO of BlueData. "BlueData's DataTap and IOBoost technologies will help Hortonworks' customers unlock the power of data locked away in traditional data stores, while achieving performance comparable to bare-metal deployments."
"Hortonworks is dedicated to expanding and empowering the Apache Hadoop ecosystem, and accelerating innovation and adoption of Hadoop-based platforms to help enterprises gain valuable insights from Big Data," said John Kreisa, vice president of strategic marketing at Hortonworks. "We welcome BlueData to the Hortonworks Technology Partner Program and believe that our integration will help customers find a deployment alternative that best fits their enterprise needs."
